Meet The Team | Johan Cederfeldt | Project Manager
Tell us about your role in TC TECH’s team and your main responsibilities?
With a background in both mechanical design and production I have a role in the team as a senior advisor or project manager in the pursuit of making the machine more efficient in terms of availability and yield. I try to guide the team in choosing robust solutions so a high degree of efficiency can be met over a long period of time. Production is not about doing a 100m sprint flawlessly, it is more of a marathon with a steady high pace to reach an overall good race.
What is the most important factor for successfully building a production system ready for volume manufacturing of optical films?
You need to meet production targets every time in terms of volume and quality. If volume targets are not met, high cost overtime has to be used to catch missed production goals. If the quality targets are not met, an even higher cost is incurred due to the value add on in the following steps when the customers process fail quality targets and/or volume targets.
High pace and big output is important, but reliability is more important. Regardless if the machine has a capacity of 1 pcs per minute or 10 pcs per minute, if you can’t produce the planned capacity it means a problem.

What productivity demands do customers have for our systems?
We have to deliver a machine that is doing what we have told our customers it will do, or better. We need to help our customer keeping their promise of delivery for the next link in the chain.
Which industries and market segments do you think TC TECH’s technology will significantly impact in the future?
The manufacturing equipment offered by TC TECH has numerous potential future applications in the next generation of displays. At the moment, however, the TCP System’s primary advantage lies in the production of mini LED diffusers and front lights for e-readers.
